| About FCAN > History
The Evangels For Christ Church (now ELOHIM) on Urbano Street was one of a good number of Christian churches, movements, and fellowships that thrived in the early 1980’s. EFC was pioneered by Tatay Gregorio Rabago Lazarte and Nanay Rosario Mendiola Lazarte.
In the mid-1990’s, a vision was born to a group of young parents from EFC, the scions of Tatay Goring and Nanay Sayong, who dreamed of genuine Christian education for their children. It was their conviction and desire that their children learn, grow and be nurtured in a Christian environment.
They envisioned a school that would provide a kind of education that was not only sugar-coated with verses or Biblical insights here and there, but one that is truly and deeply rooted in the Lord and His word, that springs from the very heart of God’s teachings, that is formulated and delivered by qualified and dedicated Christian staff, teachers, and administrators and most importantly, whose mission, vision, beliefs, goals, and culture acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as the only true Source of wisdom and knowledge.
May 17, 1994 marked the first official steps made towards the realization of this vision. George Lazarte (the eldest son of Tatay and Nanay) and his wife, Vicki, together with Ptr. Ferdie Lazarte and his wife, Kit, met and prayed at the Lazarte rest house in San Pablo, Laguna.
Many significant events ensued, taken by the Lazartes as signs of the Lord’s approval. Mr. George Lazarte was able to acquire an additional lot along Quirino Highway opening the ancestral lot to Novaliches’ main thoroughfare and expanding its area to a total of 2,242 square meters. Construction followed immediately.
Faith Christian Academy of Novaliches commenced its operation in School Year 1995-1996. Up until the present, FCAN continues to grow in and by the grace of God. It is geared towards the pursuit of excellence for God’s glory in its endeavor for the learning, growth and nurturance of every person that God entrusts in its care. FCAN attributes to God all the glory and honor.
